Norwood is located on U.S. Highway 60 in Wright County in southwest Missouri. Many travelers fuel up and get a cup of coffee in our friendly little town. While in Norwood, people visit our Old Hotel Museum. It houses many pictures and antiques depicting life in the Norwood area in the early 1900s.
Other local points of interest are all around Norwood. Just west is the town of Mansfield, where the Laura Ingalls Wilder Home (author of the Little House on the Prairie books were written) is located.
Schools - Norwood R-I Schools
Norwood R-I Schools are located at a single location on Highway 60, 56 miles east of Springfield, MO. The school district includes approximately 90 square miles of Wright and Douglas counties. The school's enrollment has doubled over the past 14 years, currently serving over 500 children (EC-12). The school has added 36 new classrooms, and maintains a 13-1 pupil to teacher ratio. The school also provides other services such as on-campus college classes for adults.

Schools - Cabool R-IV Schools
The Cabool R-IV School District is a comprehensive K-12 school district with programs to meet the needs of all of the students of the district. Cabool R-IV Schools were totally accredited by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education during a Missouri School Improvement Program review in the spring of 2001. The school district works with 86 families in the Parents as Teachers Program and 54 four and five year olds in a early childhood program. The current district enrollment in grades K-12 is 821 students (elementary 278, middle school 264, and high school 259). The enrollment of the district has been in the 800 range for the past ten years. The free and reduced meal rate in the district is 61.9%.

Mansfield, Missouri Local Information
“Birthplace of Laura Ingalls Wilder”
Mansfield, Missouri, incorporated in 1882, is proud to be the home of Laura Ingalls Wilder, who along with her family settled here in 1895. Rocky Ridge Farm, their family home is now a famous museum. She is famous for writing the Little House on the Prairie books for children.
Mansfield is located on one of the highest geographical spots in Missouri and is situated on Hwy. 60 halfway between Springfield, MO and West Plains, MO.
Schools - Mansfield Community Schools
Mansfield has an excellent K-12 school system, plus quality daycare businesses, speaking a truth to the idea that it takes a village to raise a child. Children are important to this community.
